Diet for Diverticulitis
When suffering from Diverticulitis it is important to follow a
Diverticulitis diet. There you will find examples of what should be eaten on a diet for
Diverticulitis. Contrary to the diet that should be followed during normal Diverticulosis such as high fiber. During a Diverticulitis flare up a low fiber diet should generally be followed. Sometimes even a clear liquid diet will be recommended.
While there is not conclusive proof of what diet causes Diverticulosis the general consensus is that it is caused by low fiber processed food hence the first appearance of the disease in the early 1900’s. One of the best ways to combat Diverticulosis and avoid Diverticulitis is to eat healthier high fiber foods. If a high fiber diet along with plenty of fluids a diet for Diverticulitis may be avoided.
