Colon Cleanse Diet - Cleansing Your Colon Through Diet
By Max Suther

If you are feeling less than perfect and you are not sure why, then you may want to consider trying a colon cleanse diet. This will help your body flush all of the toxins and poisons that have built up in it thanks to a poor diet and other environmental factors. Your colon could have fecal matter sticking to it and leaking toxins back into your system instead of expelling it like it should. There are all sorts of medical problems associated with an unhealthy colon. When you consider flushing your system you can choose a variety of methods that include fasting diets that only last a week to ten days or one that could last the entire year. Regardless of which diet you choose, you should always ask your doctor first if it safe for you do.

A colon cleanse diet will cause some very interesting stool to be eliminated from your body. But that is the sign that the diet is working. When the strange stools start to taper off it is best to continue the diet until your body returns to normal and you are completely cleaned out. Some diets are performed in stages and if you follow it properly, you may find yourself going back to the level that is recommended to maintain colon health.

If the colon cleanse diet you decide on uses herbs to purge the system, make sure that they do not interact with any of the medication you are taking. If the diet is not a fasting diet, try to stay away from sugary foods and dairy products. These products cause your body to build up mucous which is something you're trying to flush in the first place. Eat yogurt and drink buttermilk instead if you need to maintain your dairy intake. Staying away from mucous producing foods allows the herbs in your diet to work better.

It should only take a few days for your cleansing diet to show results. The strange stools are a good sign that your cleansing program is working. Make sure the water you drink is purified or filtered to avoid picking up any parasites that live in it. Also, make sure you eat plenty of fiber which will help your bowels move properly. Get plenty or rest and exercise and you will be feeling healthier inside a week.
